April 2024 ~ Tarot, Flower, Crystal and Spirit Animal

April

In sharing the meaning and changes of the Months, it is my hope that it plants seeds of awareness, that the calendar we currently live by is only a marking tool for mankind. It is not a true reflection of our planets natural calendar. Remember we are part of nature not apart from nature.

I am curious, did you know April has always been the fourth month in the Gregorian calendar, yet it was the fifth month in the earlier Julian calendar and was originally the second month in an even earlier Roman calendar. Nothing stays the same.

April in Latin is Aprilis, and in some schools of thought means 'Aphrodite's Month'. Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of love and beauty. She is also identified with the Roman Goddess Venus.

Aprilis, or April, had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius Caesar when it went back to 30 days again.

When we focus on the natural calendar we don't get so hung up on 'dates' but rather the time of year, which is more in flow with mother earth and father sky. By tuning more into the natural calendar we are able to ground and focus more on what is actually going on around us in our physical environment and harness that awareness into our spiritual practices.

Welcome to April 2024

The first quarter for 2024 is now complete. April brings its own unique energy to the start of 2nd quarter now.

Energetically, it is a great month to witness old thought patterns and beliefs, release them and rewrite new positive patterns & beliefs.

Whilst this can be a wonderful experience for some, it can bring up fear in others that they remain stuck. When we get ‘stuck’ on something or we find ourselves in a dark hole or are generally feeling negative, look within and see what it is that we are fearing.

You will soon see as you lean into the pointy bit, look within at the fear, it starts to dissolve.

‘You gain strength, courage and confidence by each experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do.’ Eleanor Roosevelt (1884 – 1962)

Blessings,

7 of Pentacles - April Tarot

Key word: Money

Element: Earth

Plane: Physical

Area: Finances

The symbol of the Pentacle is the gold coin which bears the five-pointed star of Hermes, God of Magic, Merchants and the business deal ~ meaning MONEY.

Pentacles represent worldly status, physical well-being and financial security.

When Pentacles appear think of MANIFESTATION, because Pentacles are the fruits of one’s labour, the culmination of the first three ingredients, the end RESULT or fruition.

The key words for Pentacles are: MANIFESTATION, REALISATION, PROOF, and PROSPERITY.

Seven of Pentacles ~ Frustration, A Difficult Decision, Patience, Commitment

This card presents a difficult work decision, whether to develop what you already have or go into new projects. Don’t give up, persistence will pay.

Decision whether to stay in a job or move on. Recommend moving on as new skills, more money will come.

It also marks a period of frustration when you are not sure exactly where to channel your energies. Because you are determined to succeed, you will apply the type of constructive energy it takes to ensure success.

Introduction: Returns on investments. This can be literal such as a bank account returning money to you, or figuratively, such as the investments of time, effort, and energy that you have put into a relationship. You will be reaping what you have sown.

General: Things will be moving along well, and you'll be feeling hopeful about the future. You may have to decide whether to put your energy into the things, people, situations that you already are involved with, or whether to spend your energy bringing more into your life. Choose wisely.

Work: What is happening now or in the immediate future will be a direct result of what you have done in the past. Your finances are likely to be flowing well - you may not be "rolling" in money but you will certainly have enough to get by, and then some.

Love: Things may be going well for the person that you have your heart set on. If you are not in a committed relationship, you need to be open to other possibilities. None of us have just one person that is the ONLY person that we can be with and have a deep, soulful, happy relationship.

Finances: You are likely to have invested wisely, either in terms of traditional investments or in terms of your time and energy. This is not a time to gamble, however. Being conservative and thoughtful about where you put your resources (especially new-found resources) is key.

Health: You are reaping the results of your past behaviour. Today sows the seeds of your tomorrow. Do you see yourself as someone who is sick, or someone who is filled with health? Even if you are stressed, you can take two seconds out of your day to think positively.

Spirituality: The reality is that life is cyclical, and that what goes around always, without fail, will come around. Remember that when you make a point to be generous - whether with time, energy, or money - that too is an investment in your own future. Share what you have. Accept gratefully what you are given.

Sweet Pea - April Flower

In some cultures, the sweet pea is believed to have magical properties that will deepen one’s wisdom and provide spiritual strength. It was often planted in yards in hopes of bringing joy, love and peace.

In the language of flowers, the sweet pea holds the symbolic meaning of blissful pleasure. Its upright, clumping flower clusters also symbolise good wishes, friendship, kindness, and goodbyes. Many believe that these blooms leave a positive sentiment and a thoughtful way to say thank you as they further symbolise gratitude.

Gratitude and Loyalty – It’s thought that the sweet pea can attract people and encourage new friendships. They have become associated with gratitude and loyalty, which are keys to good, lasting relationships.

In some contexts, sweet peas represent chastity, strength and truth, due to its association with certain folklore and superstitions. Back in the day, the flower was worn for strength, as well as to reveal the truth. It was believed to be a good omen for brides in France.

Diamond - April Birth Stone

Mind: Enhances inner vision and stimulates the imagination. Encourages one to perceive how life's trials and lessons can be put to positive use.

Body: Helps to clear congested energy when it is causing an imbalance and promotes proper flow of energies.

Spirit: Promotes truth, vision & alignment with the higher mind. Clears and aligns the auric field to light frequencies. Encourages to bravely express the most sacred self.

While Diamonds do not work directly on the emotional body, their intense energy can amplify the power of any emotional state, from bliss to despair, and should be worn with vigilance. It may even be necessary to remove them if one is in a particularly bad frame of mind. However, Diamonds infuse all levels of the energetic self with Light and may be used therapeutically to intensify and “burn through” underlying emotional issues, allowing one to feel lighter, more joyful, and more aligned with Spirit.

For anyone who has lost their identity or self-worth, is confused, reluctant or unable to step into their spiritual destiny in this life, the Diamond brings a sense of radiance, a loving energy that clears the aura and fills the emptiness with purity and Light. It links with the Divine, and as the evolution and required growth manifests within the heart, it allows the soul’s light to shine out and be shared with others.

Diamond also encourages one to look at the struggles and hardships of life and see if the lessons and growth they’ve provided can be used in a positive way. The Diamond lends strength in dealing with high-pressure situations and assists in responding with grace. It asks us to be a model of fortitude in times of adversity, and helps one understand it is in these difficult times our behavior reveals our true inner beauty and our soul’s knowledge

Red Kangaroo - April Spirit Animal

Key word for Red Kangaroo is Self-Responsibility.

Brings very strong warrior energy for both genders. Red Kangaroo reminds you that even though situations look grim, or support may be sparse, you possess all the qualities to be a warrior and fight for what is necessary in order to nourish you.

Time to stop thinking about where you’re going, and start moving instinctively.

In taking self responsibility for your actions, not only do you get to take pride in your actions but also able to recognise mistakes to correct and successes to celebrate.

Red Kangaroo gives us the power to notice obstacles instinctively and then immediately clear them with a big bounding leap of thought, realisation, or literal movement. It is time for you to give away thoughts that are not benefiting you at this time.

The Shadow Aspects:

Fearing taking a risk, especially if placed in a situation where you have to make 'quick decisions' and feel sick at the idea that not having time to 'mull it over.' Red kangaroo confronts this fear, and forces people to realise that thinking about things for too long is its own risk, and that lost opportunities can arise.

Wasting time dreaming of all the things that could make their life richer, and tending to completely forget that often things are perfectly adequate to provide things like joy, contentment, happiness and pride. Red kangaroo helps these people to recognise that these thoughts are not only unhelpful, they waste years of our life while we always look to the future and neglect our present.
